Attorneys

Kevin McHargue

Kevin has been an attorney since 1995 and is a member of the bar in Oregon and Texas. Most recently, he has been a family law attorney and mediator in Portland.  He received his JD with honors from the University of Texas School of Law in 1994 and clerked for the Supreme Court of Texas.  While in private practice, he headed the appellate section of Baron & Budd in Dallas and served as vice president for development for the ACLU of Texas.  Since moving to Oregon, he has been active in groups promoting children’s health and education. He currently serves as vice president of the Oregon PTA and as a member of the Oregon Department of Education advisory committee implementing the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).

Allison Kamilos

Allison moved to Portland, Oregon from Southern California. In college she focused on sociology, human development, and political science, ultimately receiving a BA in Political Science in 2011.  While attending Lewis & Clark Law School, Allison externed at the Oregon Innocence Project and volunteered with the ACLU of Oregon, which ignited her passion for public interest law. Allison focused primarily on conflict resolution in law school, taking multiple mediation and negotiation classes and competed and placed in a national negotiation competition. Allison strives to balance zealous legal advocacy and compassion for her clients, who she knows are often struggling with one of the most difficult times in their lives. Allison is a member of the Oregon State Bar, Oregon Trial Lawyers Association and the Multnomah Bar Association. When she’s not at work, Allison enjoys outdoor adventures such as rock climbing and backpacking, as well as photography, live music, yoga, and art. 

 

James F. LaSasso

James graduated from University of Oregon Law School in 1981. After law school James worked throughout the 80's as a law clerk, paralegal, and in private practice primarily in the area of family law. In 1990, James joined SALC and has been working as a staff attorney ever since.

 

Connie C. Lukes

After a career in telecommunications and acting as a union steward, Connie Lukes decided to expand on her interest in conflict management and graduated from Marylhurst University in 2002 with a degree in communications, concentrating in mediation and conflict resolution. She has acted as a volunteer mediator for several years. While attending Lewis and Clark Law School, Connie worked as a law clerk at St. Andrew while interning at Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office and Lewis and Clark Legal Clinic. After being admitted to practice law in the spring of 2006, Connie worked as a contract attorney while working as a volunteer attorney in St. Andrew night clinic. She was hired as a staff attorney in the fall of 2006.

 

Alex S. Ogurek

Alex joined St. Andrew as an attorney in 2014. While in school, Alex clerked at the Clackamas County office. He graduated from the night program at Lewis and Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon, where he focused on family law and elder law. He also graduated with honors from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado, where he focused on hiking and camping. In his spare time, Alex enjoys swimming, cooking, reading about science stuff, and fun.

 

 

 

Washington County Office

Michael D. Hess

Michael Hess is a 2008 graduate of the Willamette University College of Law. He was selected to be a member of The Order of Barristers, a national organization that recognizes outstanding courtroom advocacy. Before law school, Michael lived in Washington DC where he served on the staff for members of the House of Representatives. He also worked for a national environmental advocacy group and a national public relations firm. Michael graduated cum laude with a BA degree in English and History from the University of the Pacific (Stockton, CA) in 1996. Before joining SALC, Michael was an associate at Kramer & Associates. In his spare time, Michael officiates high school football as a member of the Portland Football Officials Association. Originally from California, Michael spends his free time with his wife and three children, exploring everything the Pacific Northwest has to offer.

Kelly D. Lemarr

Kelly is a graduate of Willamette University College of Law and a practicing attorney in Oregon since 2003. Since then she has focused her practice on a wide range of family law issues. In addition to her work at SALC, Kelly accepts pro bono court appointments as the attorney for children in high conflict domestic relations cases.

 

 

Shannon Aaron

Shannon graduated with honors from Lewis & Clark Law School in 2013. During law school, Shannon worked at both the Lewis & Clark Legal Clinic and the Small Business Legal Clinic where she developed a passion for public interest legal work. Before joining the St. Andrew Legal Clinic’s Hillsboro office in 2015, Shannon was a family law judicial clerk for a Circuit Court Judge. When not at work, Shannon enjoys spending time with family and friends, especially when that time includes playing board games.
